Description
English: Herredshuset ('the town hall' or 'the municipal building') in Jessheim, Ullensaker municipality, Norway. Herredshuset is a red-painted wooden building designed by the architect Holger Sinding-Larsen, and opened 1901 as a municipal building, featuring a banquet hall and spaces for the local bank. The building functioned as the municipal offices until 1967. It now serves as a venue for courses and events. Near the Herredshuset is a five-meter-high monument stone erected on May 17, 1914, "in memory of the soldiers from Ullensaker in the War of 1814 – Lier and Matran" and a World War II memorial plaque "in memory of those from Ullensaker who fell in the fight for Norway's freedom 1940-1945."

  • Herredshuset er et rødmalt stashus bygd i tre, tegnet av arkitekten Holger Sinding-Larsen i nasjonalromantisk stil, reist på en tomt gitt av kjøpmann Ole Gotaas og innviet i 1901, med kommunelokaler, festsal og lokaler for banken. Bygningen ble utvidet og endret i 1923 og 1951 og fungerte som kommunelokale til 1967. Herredshusets venner har restaurert og vedlikeholdt huset siden 2003, og det er nå kurs- og selskapslokale.
  • Minnesmerke på liten steinlagt plass ved Herredshuset: En rundt fem meter høy bauta (minnestein, minnestøtte) på dobelt sokkel reist 17. mai 1914 «til Minde om Soldatene fra Ullensaker i Krigen 1814 – Lier og Matran». Se Lier skanse og slaget ved Matrand.
