Description
English: CONSTRUCTED CIRCA 1750. WASHINGTON’S ARMY PASSED THROUGH THIS AREA ON HIS WAY TO MORRISTOWN AFTER HIS VICTORY AT PRINCETON. GENERAL MAD ANTHONY WAYNE STAYED HERE AND AARON WILDE, A TORY SPY WAS CAPTURED AND HIS BODY BROUGHT BACK TO THE TAVERN. IT WAS THE BERNARDSVILLE LIBRARY UNTIL 2000. IT IS NOW PRIVATELY OWNED.
