Summary[edit]
DescriptionJaansen Microscope.jpg |
English: Reproduction of an optical device that Zacharias Snijder in 1841 claimed was an early telescope built by Zacharias Janssen. In 1858 Utrecht professor Pieter Harting claimed it to be a microscope, still attributed to Zacharias Janssen. Its actual function and creator has been disputed. Reproduction was made by John Mayall, London UK, in the 1890s and is presently in the collection of the National Museum of Health and Medicine in Silver Spring, MD. [1] |
