English: The Clock Tower in Jaffa is a clock tower erected by Moritz Scheinberg, a Jewish watchmaker and jeweler from Jaffa [1]. The tower, built in 1903, was one of six clock towers built in Israel in honor of the 25th anniversary of the tenure of Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II. The tower was built with the help of donations from the city's residents, Arabs and Jews, led by Yosef Beck Moyal [2], and is one of a hundred clock towers built throughout the Ottoman Empire. The tower is built of kurkar stone, and its shape is somewhat reminiscent of a European church. At the top of the tower is a copper cover, with two clocks and a bell ringing once every half hour. The square in which it is located was named after the tower - Clock Square.
