English: Original caption: "Medal of Honor recipient U.S. Army Lt. Col. James Megellas, the most decorated soldier from the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II, addresses the crowd at the Dallas Military Ball, in Dallas, April 18, 2009, after being presented the meritorious service award. U.S. Navy Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was the guest of honor at the 45th annual event, which honors active and retired military in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, metropolitan area." Note that the caption is incorrect in calling Megellas a Medal of Honor recipient, he was nominated for but never received the medal. |
