Description
English: The Reverend James P. Conover (Jay Conover) of St. Paul's School in New Hampshire is credited with bringing the sport of ice hockey from Canada to the U.S., along with a square, leather-covered puck. Conover graduated from St. Paul's in 1876 and was teaching there from 1882 to 1915.[1] Conover is also called a "father of American squash".[2]
