Během německé okupace Čech, Moravy a Slezska vykonával funkci instruktora a dispečera parašutistů dopravovaných nad protektorát a vysazovaných do okupované vlasti.
English: Jaroslav Šustr (* 18 March 1908 Strážnice - 7 November 1988 USA). From 1935 to 1937 he graduated from the War College and was assigned to the staff of the Prague Area Command, where he served as an intelligence officer. On 10 April 1941, he was appointed in exile as head of the command section of Special Group D of the Second Administration of the Department of the Ministry of Defence for Airborne Operations in the Protectorate. During the German occupation of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, he served as an instructor and dispatcher of paratroopers transported over the Protectorate and dropped into the occupied homeland. One of his duties as a paratroop guide (dispatcher) was to escort Czechoslovak paratroopers into the Protectorate. He provided the Intelligence Department with the addresses of his relatives, with which the paratroopers were equipped (usually on board the aircraft). After the end of World War II, he worked as an officer on the general staff of the Ministry of Defence. From November 1946, he served on the Allied Control Council in Berlin. After February 1948, he emigrated to America (USA). In Communist Czechoslovakia he was declared a deserter and was demoted to private. |
