  • Dansk: - Busten forestiller uden tvivl Louis XV, f. 1710, konge af Frankrig 1715, d. 1774 og går tilbage til et af de portrætter af kongen, som udførtes af Jean Baptiste Lemoyne, måske til den første i rækken af portrætbuster. Den blev bestilt i 1732 og formentlig forelå en lermodel samme år, et eksemplar i marmor 1734. Kunstnerens elev Jean-Jacques Caffieri kopierede den i 1749 i Rom til det daværende franske Akademi. Den blev tilintetgjort i 1792 på opfordring af David (L. Rèau, Les Lemoyne, 1927, p. 144, nr. 52). (Se: Olsen, p. 78, 1980)
