23 August 2010 Consul General Celebrates Inter-Religious Unity Consul General Lee McClenny and other Consulate staff members recently participated in the 27th annual Ramadan-Iftar dinner hosted by George Saad, a prominent member of Montreal’s vibrant Egyptian community and the President of Voice of Egypt in Canada TV-Radio. Diplomats and government officials, including Quebec Premier Jean Charest (pictured here with event host George Saad) and Montreal Mayor Gérald Tremblay, joined Muslim, Christian and Jewish leaders to mark the beginning of Ramadan and celebrate inter-religious unity.

Le Consul général Lee McClenny et d’autres membres du personnel du Consulat assistaient récemment au 27e dîner du Ramadan (Iftar) organisé par George Saad, membre influent de la dynamique communauté égyptienne de Montréal et Président de La voix de l’Égypte au Canada TV-Radio. Diplomates et dignitaires, dont le Premier Ministre du Québec Jean Charest (sur la photo en compagnie de l’organisateur de la soirée George Saad) et le Maire de Montréal Gérald Tremblay, se sont joints aux leaders musulmans, chrétiens et juifs afin de souligner le début du ramadan et célébrer l’harmonie interreligieuse.
