  • Dansk: - Billedet stammer fra den historiske billedserie med motiver fra Skt. Vincent de Pauls liv og gerninger, som de Troy sammen med andre af tidens førende franske kunstnere malede til Eglise Saint-Lazare, Lazaristernes Kollegiekirke i Paris (af de i alt 11 billeder udførte de Troy de 5).

- 1789: Konfiskeret under den store franske revolution og sammen med de øvrige billeder fra udsmykningen indbragt til Garde du Depot des Actifs Augustins. - 1797, 15. sept.: Solgt fra depot de Nesle, under nr. 396 (som F. de Troy), Sammen med de Troys billede af "Saint Vincent de Paul judgicant..." - 1810: 28. nov.:Solgt på anonym auktion i Paris over en samling malerier bl.a. hidrørende fra parisiske kirker, kat. 25 (som J.B. de Troy) ("Collections de Tableaux des trois ecoles, progres a la direction des chapelle en des eglises, et sujets d'histoire" cf. Schnapper et Ternois, 1978 - 1938, april: erhvervet af Ny Carlsbergfondet fra anonym dansk besiddelse. - 1939: Deponeret på Kronborg - 1994: Efter ønske fra Kronborg tilbageleveret til Ny Carlsbergfondet
