Description
Svenska: Den första skolan i Bärbo f.d.socken var Jenningska skolan i Täckhammar. Det var friherrinnan Sophie Eleonora Jennings (1757–1837) vid Täckhammar som år 1829 donerade medel för att bygga en folkskola vid Täckhammars kvarn. Vid sin död år 1837 donerade hon även årligen en summa motsvarande 20 tunnor spannmål till lärarlön samt 1000 riksdaler banco, där avkastningen skulle användas till läroböcker och fastighetsunderhåll.

Undervisningen i Jenningska skolan bedrevs mellan åren 1829 och 1888. Byggnaden har också varit missionshus, där det bland annat bedrevs söndagsskola.

Idag (2023) är Jenningska skolan privatbostad.
