Jenny Erpenbeck wurde 1967 in Ostberlin geboren und lebt heute als freie Schriftstellerin und Regisseurin in Berlin. Ihr Prosadebüt Geschichte vom alten Kind war ein sensationeller Erfolg. Im Jahr 2001 folgte der ErzählbandTand, 2005 der Roman Wörterbuch. 2008 erschien der mit mehreren Literaturpreisen ausgezeichnete Roman Heimsuchung.
