Chinese name: 金杯蒂阿兹 (jīnbēi dìāzī) Year of launch: 2016 Jinbei is a company owned by Brilliance Auto and was established in 1988. It produces different generations of the Toyota Hiace in license, but also produces the S30/S35 compact SUVs, the S50 (Kia Sorento copy), S70/Diazi (Acura MDX copy), cheap MPVs and light trucks. The Jinbei Tjatse (Diazi) SUV was launched in 2016 and is produced by its Mianyang Jinbei subsidiary. The Tjatse is named after a Norse mythological figure, Tjasse/Þjazi. It was renamed S70 to fit within Jinbei's SUV range, consisting of the small S30/S35 (also produced by Mianyang Jinbei) and S50, produced by the Brilliance Jinbei subsidiary. The Tjatse/S70 might look very similar to the Acura MDX, but is much smaller and mechanically unrelated to the large Acura crossover. |
