Description A postcard of a painting titled John Farrah's Harrogate toffee shop Christmas 1840, published on behalf of John Farrah's grocery shop in Crescent Place, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. (However John Farrah was not born until 1849, and the shop in the picture is the one in Crown Place, Harrogate, where his grandmother worked, and the toffee was invented). The card is postmarked 1912.
