Listen With Your Eyes! Photography workshops with John Stanmeyer Celebrated U.S. photographer John Stanmeyer, recipient of numerous awards, and whose work has graced the covers of National Geographic and TIME Magazine, gave a series of workshops to Jewish and Arab youth. High school students from Beit Shemesh, and Access Program students from Baqa ElGharbiyeh, Kseifeh, Tel Sheva, Ramleh and Um Batin learned how to use photography, not only as a form of self-expression, but also as a means of talking about one's own identity. Stanmeyer's workshops are the first stage of a U.S. Embassy-initiated project, which exposes students to accessible smartphone photography as a tool for creating real change in their communities. |
