Description
English: Johnstown 1770 plaque. The inscription reads "Johnstown 250 years. In 1770 John Hely of Foulkscourt founded Johnstown, a planned village inspired by his estate village of Winterbourne Stoke in Wiltshire, England. This square was the nucleus of the village with three houses in each quadrant twelve in all. From this square the village developed. Erected in 2020 by Johnstown Heritage Group with assistance from Kilkenny County Council."
