English: José Antonio Abásolo Álvarez (Pancorbo, November 23, 1947) is an archaeologist born in Pancorbo (Burgos), and professor of archaeology at the University of Valladolid, where teaches in the Faculty of philosophy and letters. He is also academic Tello Téllez de Meneses institution from July 4, 2004.
Pioneer in the development of the province of Burgos archaeological summary during 1977 and 1978, Abásolo had the opportunity to experience firsthand the majority of sites in the northern part of Castile and León, Spain. Collaborator alongside Javier Cortes Álvarez of Miranda, Fernando Perez Rodriguez-Aragón and Miguel Nozal Calvo in the excavations of the Roman villa of La Olmeda campaigns, is a great connoisseur of Saldaña region, Palencia. Also note his published works in the study of Pisoraca and Segisama, deposits of vital importance to understand the romanization of the North of Hispania. In addition to the provinces of Burgos and Palencia, Abásolo has published several works studying sites of the province of Álava, Segovia, Zamora and Valladolid.Español: José Antonio Abásolo Álvarez (Pancorbo, 23 de noviembre de 1947) es un arqueólogo burgalés, natural de Pancorbo, y catedrático de arqueología de la Universidad de Valladolid, donde imparte clases en la facultad de Filosofía y Letras. Es además académico de la -Institución Tello Téllez de Meneses desde el 4 de julio de 2004.
Pionero en la elaboración de la Carta Arqueológica de la Provincia de Burgos durante 1977 y 1978, Abásolo tuvo oportunidad de conocer de primera mano la mayoría de yacimientos de la zona norte de Castilla y León. Colaborador junto con Javier Cortes Álvarez de Miranda, Fernando Pérez Rodríguez-Aragón y Miguel Nozal Calvo en las excavaciones de la villa romana de La Olmeda durante varias campañas, es un gran conocedor de la comarca de la Vega de Saldaña, en Palencia. Cabe destacar también sus obras publicadas en torno al estudio de Pisoraca y Segisama, yacimientos de vital importancia para comprender la romanización del norte de Hispania. Además de las provincias de Burgos y Palencia, Abásolo ha publicado diversas obras estudiando yacimientos de la provincia de Álava, Segovia, Zamora o Valladolid. |
