Description
Español: José Antonio Chaves, nació en Los Puertos de Altagracia, Costa Oriental del Estado Zulia, el 24 de septiembre de 1854 y murió en Maracaibo el 17 de julio de 1933, abogado de profesión y músico por convicción escribió diversas piezas musicales (valses, salmos, marchas fúnebres, música sacra y folclórica), excelente orador y cronista, además de ejercer como Rector de La Universidad del Zulia entre los años 1896-1897. Ejecutante de la flauta y la guitarra, se inmortalizo al crear la música del himno del Estado Zulia
