Čeština: Josef Jonák (* 18. března 1900 Klučov u Českého Brodu – 23. května 1953 Praha) byl za druhé světové války příslušníkem československé armády v zahraničí. Ke konci roku 1944 utrpěl těžká bojová zranění hlavy a pravé ruky s trvalými následky. Po skončení druhé světové války byl v hodnosti majora československé armády v roce 1949 propuštěn do zálohy. V únoru 1953 byl zatčen. V politickém procesu byl obviněn z velezrady jen proto, že zvažoval odchod do exilu. Dne 23. května 1953 spáchal Josef Jonák sebevraždu oběšením poté, co byl 22. května 1953 odsouzen ke 14ti letům odnětí svobody. English: Josef Jonák (* 18 March 1900 Klučov near Český Brod - 23 May 1953 Prague) was a member of the Czechoslovak army abroad during the Second World War. Towards the end of 1944 he suffered severe battle wounds to his head and right arm with permanent consequences. After the end of World War II, he was discharged to the reserve in 1949 with the rank of major in the Czechoslovak Army. He was arrested in February 1953. In a political trial he was accused of treason only because he was considering going into exile. On 23 May 1953, Josef Jonák committed suicide by hanging after being sentenced to 14 years imprisonment on 22 May 1953. |
