Description |
English: Prado Museum page: "The portrait has appeared as Don Juan José of Austria, but it bears no resemblance to the image of the portraits that are undoubtedly preserved of him, so this identification cannot be accepted. Furthermore, to although he has the cross of Saint John of Malta on his chest, the enormous Golden Fleece that can be seen on his clothing invalidates his identification, since as far as we know, Don Juan José of Austria was never worthy of such honor." |
