Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Jumo 211 was an inverted V12 supercharged, liquid cooled aero engine.

This example is from a Ju88C which was shot down in Norway in March 1942. It was built in March 1941 as a Ju 88A with the WkNr. 0880797 but was converted to a Ju 88C-4 “Afflebach-Zerstörer” at Dessau between January and February 1942. Some sources state this was to a C-2 variant but fitted with a Ju 88C-4 nose. I am going with the majority! On 28th March 1942 it was operating for KG 30 with the code 4D+HA when it was shot down by AA fire and force landed at Nordkyn, Kinnaroddden, the Northernmost point of Europe. The remains were recovered in 1999 and have been used in the restoration of other Ju88s, initially in Norway and more recently in Hungary. Wings Museum, Balcombe, West Sussex, UK
