Summary

[edit]
Description

English: Waterfall of stream “Gosbach”, heavily covered by mossy travertine, Unter-Drackenstein, Swabian Alb. The travertine sediment is the continuation of a 150 m broad and 20 m thick travertine terrace, accumulated by the karst spring’s water, which rises high above Unter-Drackenstein in a steep slope.
The terrace has 20 houses, the dominating church and the clergy house. As common in large travertine-sediments, there are primary caves in the sediment, including the “Mariengrotte”. This and the church used to attract as catholic sacraments.
