Description
English: Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Panorama as seen from the Main Entrance. More than 5.000 Commonwealth (Australian and British) and 1.800 Dutch casualties are commemorated in the cemetery,including some 300 men who died of sickness at Nieke and Changaraya and who were cremated. Their ashes are buried in two graves in the cemetery and their names appear on panels in the shelter building.
Deutsch: Kanchanburi Kriegsgräberstätte, Panoramaansicht, Fotographiert vom Haupteingang. Mehr als 5000 Soldaten aus dem Commonwealth (australische und britische) und 1800 niederländischen Soldaten sind auf dem Friedhof begraben, darunter rund 300 Männer die an Krankheiten bei Nieke und Changaraya starben und eingeäschert wurden. Ihre Asche wurde in zwei Gräbern auf dem Friedhof beigesetzt und ihre Namen auf Tafeln in der zugehörigen Kapelle verewigt.
