Summary[edit]

Description
English: Kaohsiung East Gate (東門, aka 鳳山縣舊城) has been partially rebuilt with the political refugees from China using a good chunk of the castle wall. It has since became part of the site, and an interesting story trapped in time and space. (*The refugees built their village "on" and surrounding the castle walls here. These are public properties, and all citizens have rights to access. But the refugees closed their doors and community from "outsiders." The government quietly allowed these illegal buildings to propagate. The village around this Castle Park is now a historical monument as well.)
