Karaman Museum

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The booklet ‘Karaman Museum’ (Ilhan Temizsoy & M. Vehbi Uysal) describes this object as: “Inventory number 1184 in the Etnographical section, a porous stone carving with a representation of a lion attacking a deer, is a fine example of Seljuk art in its well defined plasticity. Scenes of attacking animals have been common themes in many art objects excavated at Pazyryk Urgan in Central Asia (c. 300 BC). This artistic tradition was inherited by the Seljuks”.
