Summary
[edit]DescriptionKarori Wildlife Sanctuary 01.jpg |
English: Karori Wildlife Sanctuary as seen from the north (photographed from Tinakori Hill). Features visible: Lower dam lake. Red spire of the lower dam valve tower in the middle foreground (mostly obscured by a house). A small area of the lower earth dam (covered in grass) and the northern edge of the fenceline can be seen in the middle left foreground near the power pylon. At the top end of the lake can be seen an electric boat and a path, at the top of which can be seen the location of a "weka proof" fence that keeps one reintroduced species, weka, to this end on the sanctuary while other species establish further up. On the slope to the left is part of a large stand of mature introduced trees (pinus radiata and others) and on the right slopes can be seen part of the regenerating native forest.
