Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Wayan Limbak is the figure who created the Kecak Dance. In 1930, Limbak had popularized this dance abroad and was assisted by Walter Spies, a German painter. The male dancers who dance kecak will chant the word 'cak cak cak'. That's where the name Kecak was created. In addition to the shouting, the Kecak Dance music also came from the sound of the ringing which was tied to the foot of the dancer who played the Ramayana characters. Inside the circle, the other dancers act. They play dances taken from episodes of the Ramayana story that try to save Shinta from the evil hands of Ravana. Not infrequently, Kecak Dance also involves visitors who are watching the dance action.
