Description

While the West of Ireland is so much in the news these days it is good to remember that the land, no more than the people, is rugged and varied. It has been settled for thousands of years and while the only traces may be circles in the land or old passage tombs like this one they are proof of life and death in the West. This Cromlech/Dolmen is in the Cavan Burren park in County Clare Cavan and is all bricked up which begs the question - to keep the dead in or the living out? Perhaps it was done more recently to provide shelter for people or animals?
