Wavefronts (lines of constant phase) for a moving point source of surface waves in comoving frame of reference.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Wavefronts (lines of constant phase) for a moving point source of surface waves in comoving frame of reference (animation). The source moves at a constant speed, the radii of wavefronts being proportional to the square of time. The envelope of the wavefronts is clearly seen and represents the Kelvin wake pattern.
