Die 1,84 m hohe Figur aus Lindenholz ist um 1480 entstanden. Maria steht auf einer Mondsichel, unter der ein Gesicht zu sehen ist. Umgeben ist sie von einem Strahlenkranz, der aber nicht zur ursprünglichen Figur gehörte. Sie trägt eine Krone und in der rechten Hand ein Zepter. Auf dem linken Arm sitzt das Jesuskind, das in der linken Hand die Weltkugel trägt und mit der rechten nach der Mantelschnur greift. English: Crescent Madonna (Madonna in the Radiant Wreath) in the monastery church Kemnade, Bodenwerder-Kemnade (Lower Saxony) The 1.84 m high figure made of linden wood was created around 1480. Mary stands on a crescent moon, under which a face can be seen. It is surrounded by an aureola, which did not belong to the original figure. She wears a crown and a scepter in her right hand. On his left arm sits the baby Jesus carrying the globe in his left hand and grasping the coat cord with his right hand. |
