| Description | Kettle Point on Lake Huron. Those lines in the trees mark the lake's retreating shoreline. The lake itself (lkie all the Greats) is just a dozen thousand years old, and changes shape as the land rises in places and settles in others as a result of isostatic rebound from the immense weight of the departed glacier. To the right is Pinery Park, home of an old oak forest savannah. A large woodlot fronts the nearest farm in this picture. |
