English: It is situated in Privolnoye, a village in the Lori Province of Armenia, near the border with Georgia. Apart from the main church, Khuchap Monastery also consists of a gavit and several ruined buildings. A gavit or zhamatun is often contiguous to the west of a church in a Medieval Armenian monastery. It served as narthex (entrance to the church), mausoleum and assembly room.
