ไทย: หรียญรัตนาภรณ์รัชกาลที่ 9 ชั้นที่ 5 จำลองภาพขึ้นโดยอ้างอิงจากข้อความในพระราชบัญญัติเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์ รัชกาลที่ 9 พ.ศ. 2495 และภาพเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์รัชกาลที่ 9 ชั้นที่ 1 จาก File:Princess Sirindhorn 2009-12-7 Royal Thai Government House 2.jpg และ File:Princess Sirindhorn 2009-12-7 Royal Thai Government House 3.jpg


ตามมาตรา 3 แห่งพระราชบัญญัติเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์ รัชกาลที่ 9 พ.ศ. 2495 ได้กำหนดลักษณะของเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์ไว้ดังนี้

มาตรา 3 ลักษณะแห่งเหรียญรัตนาภรณ์ตามพระราชบัญญัตินี้ ให้มีอักษรพระปรมาภิไธย ภ.ป.ร. อยู่ในขอบวงกลมซึ่งมีรัศมี และมีหูทำด้วยทองคำสำหรับร้อยแพรแถบข้างบน มีลำดับเป็น 5 ชั้น ดั่งนี้
ชั้นที่ 1 อักษรพระปรมาภิไธยและขอบเรือนเงินประดับเพชรทั้งดวง
ชั้นที่ 2 อักษรพระปรมาภิไธยทองคำ ลงยาสีขาว ขอบเรือนเงินประดับเพชร
ชั้นที่ 3 อักษรพระปรมาภิไธยทองคำ ลงยาสีขาว ขอบสร่งทองคำ
ชั้นที่ 4 อักษรพระปรมาภิไธยทองคำ ขอบสร่งเงิน
ชั้นที่ 5 อักษรพระปรมาภิไธยเงิน ขอบสร่งเงิน

ให้มีแพรแถบกว้าง ๒๓ มิลลิเมตร พื้นสีเหลือง มีริ้วสีขาว 2 ข้าง สอดร้อยหูเหมือนกันทั้ง 5 ชั้น สำหรับพระราชทานสตรี ผูกเป็นรูปแมงปอ สำหรับพระราชทานบุรุษ ไม่ผูก ใช้กลัดอกเสื้อเบื้องซ้าย
