Description
Nederlands: De Haarlemmersluis in Spaarndam

Nadat de dam in 1514 was weggeslagen als gevolg van de Sint Jeronimusvloed is bij het herstel van de dam de kleine Haarlemmersluis aangelegd. Aan de kant van het IJ lag de haven van Spaarndam.

Aan het einde van de 19e eeuw werd de Grote Sluis aangelegd waardoor de Haarlemmersluis buiten gebruik kon worden gesteld. De slis werg drooggelegd en de haven werd gedempt. Op de plek van de haven werden huizen gebouwd, het Havenplein.

De Haarlemmersluis ligt er nog steeds en is rijksmonument.
