Description

Kościół pw. św. Jana Chrzciciela w Panigrodzu

Panigródz - dawna posiadłość rodu Pałuków.

W 1153 roku Zbylut Pałuka z Panigrodza ufundował klasztor cysterski w Łeknie. Panigródz wszedł w skład Fundacji. Od tego czasu przez wieki dzieje Panigrodza związane były z łekneńskim, a później z wągrowieckim klasztorem cystersów. Pierwszy kościół w Panigrodzu został ufundowany w XIII w, przez Cystersów z Łekna. W 1765 r, rozebrano pierwszy kościół. Nową drewnianą świątynię wybudowano w tym samym miejscu. W 1808 spłonął drewniany kościół. W 1830 roku wybudowano nowy murowany kościół. W 1913 roku do świątyni dobudowano zakrystię oraz kruchtę. W tym samym roku konsekrowano kościół. W 1948 roku wykonano polichromię we wnętrzu świątyni. W 1950 roku dzwonom ufundowanym przez parafian i proboszcza nadano imiona św. Jan Chrzciciel i św. Feliks.
