Description
Deutsch: Kolonialstein, Kleindenkmal im Heidelberger Stadtwald, errichtet am 24. April 1924. Der Schriftzug: 24.IV.24 Zum Gedenken an die 40jähr. Kolonialgeschichte des Deutschen Reiches, erinnert an die am 24. April 1884 erfolgte Gründung der ersten deutschen Kolonie Deutsch-Südwestafrika, heutiges Namibia. Offiziere aus Heidelberg und Umgebung, die in den Auseinandersetzungen in Deutsch-Südwestafrika im Einsatz waren sowie Prof. Alfred Hettner, Heidelberger Sektionsführer der Deutschen Kolonialgesellschaft, gaben den Impuls, den Gedenkstein an die erste deutsche Kolonie am 24. April 1924 im Heidelberger Stadtwald zu errichten.[1]Geschützt nach § 2 DSchG
