Deutsch: Ein üblicher Anblick am Strand von Wangerooge, nicht aber im Watt: eine Kompassqualle (Chrysaora hysoscella). Wenn die Tiere einmal auf Land geworfen sind, werden sie sterben. Die Tiere bewegen sich normalerweise einige Meter unter der Wasseroberfläche. Mit den Tentakeln und den Nesseln daran fangen sie ihre Beute. Wer diese wunderschönen urzeitlichen Tiere lebendig betrachten möchte, dem sei sehr ein Besuch des Aquariums in Wilhelmshaven empfohlen. Die Datumsangabe unten ist nicht exakt, sicher sagen lässt sich nur: Sommer 2019. Wie viele Quallen am Strand angespült werden, kann sich sehr stark ändern, etwa mit Strömungen und "Quallenblüten".
