Description
Deutsch: Informationstafel vor dem Kriegerdenkmal oder Kriegermahnmal in Rammenau. Die Inschrift lautet:

Kriegermahnmal


Dieser Ehrenhain mit dem Granitmahnmal wurde für 72 im ersten Weltkrieg (1914-1918) gefallene Ortssöhne errichtet. Die Reliefplatten stellen eine stillende Mutter als werdendes Leben und einen sterbenden Krieger als vergehendes Leben dar. Der Entwurf und die Ausführung lagen vermutlich in den Händen des Bildhauers Brodauf aus Oberloschwitz.
Hier befanden sich früher die Schulteichwiesen, die für die Gestaltung des Mahnmals extra trocken gelegt wurden. Dort, wo heute die große Weide steht, schwammen bis zur Jahrhundertwende Gänse auf den Wellen des Schulteiches. Die Chronik berichtet, daß der Schulteich um 1710, wie alle anderen Rammenauer Teiche, mit Karpfenbrut besetzt war.
