Description
English: The Roman Catholic Diocese of Krishnagar (Latin: Krishnagaren(sis)) is a diocese located in the city of Krishnagar. It was established in 1855 as Missio Sui Iuris of Central Bengal from the Apostolic Vicariate of Western Bengal. Thereafter in 1870, it was promoted as Apostolic Prefecture of Central Bengal. In 1886, it was promoted as Diocese of Central Bengal and finally in 1887 it was renamed as Diocese of Krishnagar.
