Description
In 1913 Zahrtmann had the villa Casa d'Antino built in Frederiksberg, near Copenhagen. The "M.K. Zahrtmann" who wrote on the reverse of the painting would be his brother Marius Kofoed Zahrtmann (1861-1940). The year 1917 marked the death of Kristian Zahrtmann, and this painting must be one of the last he made.
