Description
English: Kurgan Budžak near Horgoš, Serbia. In the life of ancient peoples the reconnaissance was of priority importance, so they carefully searched high points for their settlements. Although this mound now seems small and flat, even today this is the best observing spot in the area, an elevation point from where one can see kilometers around. In the basin at right once the river Tisza flew (thousands of years ago), so this may have been a haven as well in the times of kurgan building peoples. Code: BAC434
