Description
Català: Hanníbal i el seu exèrcit als Alps. Trobada de dos cabdills - Agustín Navarro, 1778. Oli sobre tela. Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando.

"L'expedició d'Hanníbal contra Roma va fer una llarga ruta que va partir de Cartagena. Segons els historiadors antics, una de les principals dificultats orogràfiques a les quals es va enfrontar va ser la travessa del massís dels Alps, en territori hostil. Les penúries van fer que es perdessin molts efectius humans i animals. La pintura, amb un estil molt idealitzat, capta un moment de pacte entre Anníbal i els representants dels pobles locals perquè li permetessin avançar, mentre les seves tropes estaven a l'espera."
