Français : L'archange Raphaël accompagnant Tobie dit "l'ange baroque de La Gleize", réalisé 1725-1730 par un sculpteur inconnu (mais pouvant être rapproché de la production de Walter Pompe).
La particularité de cette sculpture réside dans sa polychromie: les vêtements de Tobie ont été réalisés à l'aventurine - sur la peinture rose pâle encore fraiche, le peintre à soupoudré des paillettes de cuivre argenté avant de le recouvrir d'un glacis - pour imiter les brocards de soie. Cette technique appliquée à une sculpture est racisme et la sculpture de La Gleize est l'unique cas documenté en Wallonie. Conservé dans l'église Notre-Dame de l'Assomption de La Gleize. Classé Trésor de la Communauté Française le 24 novembre 2014. |
