Description
English: Engraving with a view (looking south) of the fire at the Foire Saint-Germain on the night of 16 to 17 March 1762 (published in Paris by Jacques Chereau, rue St. Jacques). The Saint Sulpice Church is visible in the background. The engraved upper part of the the Gallica original has been flipped horizontally, so that the title at the top reads correctly, and Saint-Sulpice is in the correct position, to the right.
Français : D'après L'incendie de la Foire Saint-Germain en 1762, gravure édité à Paris par Jacques Chereau, rue Saint-Jacques. L'image et le titre de tête ont été retournés numériquement, et la couleur a été lourdement retouchée avec Photoshop (note : ne pas utiliser ce document non conforme à l'original pour illustrer l'article « Jacques Chéreau »).
