Description
English: L’École de Platon (1898) ("The School of Plato"), oil on canvas, 260 x 605 cm. Painted by Jean Delville in Italy after winning the Belgian Prix de Rome. He was influenced by the Classical and Renaissance style of painting, and also by Esoteric spiritual trends, which were foundational to his "Idealist art". In the painting, Plato is depicted teaching to disciples in an ideal setting, and the figures are drawn according to a spiritual principle of androgyny.

Fue influenciado por el estilo de pintura clásico y renacentista, y también por las tendencias espirituales esotéricas, que fueron fundamentales para su "arte idealista".
