Summary[edit]

Description
English: In 1904, this two-panel cartoon appeared in The Tacoma Times, illustrating a story about an incident in Brattleboro, Vermont where a man named George Washington Alonzo Jones had a pet fox - which, police alleged, he had trained to steal chickens.

In the left panel, Jones' fox is in a chicken coop, telling the birds "Master George wants a nice fryer"; Jones watches from around the corner.

In the right panel, Jones and his fox are in prison, looking through a barred window. Two bearded men are outside the prison. One says "One or t'other's guilty."
