Español: La fuente o pilona de Chiapa de Corzo está considerada como uno de los monumentos artísticos más importantes no solo de México, sino de América. Es la primera fuente que se trazó en Chiapas, y el único edificio de estilo Mudéjar realizado de ladrillo en todo el estado.
Los españoles para hacer más notorio su dominio sobre los Chiapa, pensaron erigir una fuente monumental, a donde el pueblo tuviera necesidad de ir a surtirse de agua todos los días. Como se verá la fuente fue construida representando simbólicamente la corona del Rey Carlos I de España y V de Alemania. Su estilo es mezcla de barroco y mudéjar. Los ladrillos que figuran en forma de puntiaguda piramidal simulan la pedrería de la Corona Real. La torrecilla sobre el lado de oriente, que esta unida al cuerpo del monumento por un arco, simula el asa o agarradera de la corona. Esta fuente monumental, denominada LA PILA y construida en 1562 por el fraile dominicano de origen Portugués Rodrigo de León, según historiadores y arqueólogos, es única en América Latina. Por dentro de la arquería, hay insertadas en los pilares de los arcos unas placas de mosaicos con inscripciones acerca de la construcción del monumento; estas placas fueron colocadas a principios de los años cuarenta
