A gauche du tableau, la future cathédrale Saint-Louis, qui sera construite à partir de 1742, n'existe pas encore. Seul le clocher de l'ancienne église Saint-Barthélemy est reconnaissable. La place est ici repésentée comme un lieu d'agrément, bordé d'arbres et pourvu d'une fontaine, où une multitude de personnages prennent plaisir à évoluer." |
