Use Fees may apply." Archiving a copy of an image does not transfer the copyright for that image to the archive, or restart the copyright clock. United States copyright law does not allow restrictions to be placed on the use of public domain images or allow demands for fees for their use. This is an example of Copyfraud.

The author of this work is anonymous and this work was made available to the public more than 50 years ago. According to the Berne convention Art. 7, and the laws of many countries, this work is in the public domain. Note: This template does not apply to works from countries that extended the Berne Convention or that did not sign it. In particular, this includes the European Union, the United States, India, and Russia. This work was never published prior to January 1, 2003, and is currently in the public domain in the United States because it meets one of the following conditions: its author died before 1954; the death date of its author is not known, and it was created before 1904; it is an anonymous work, a pseudonymous work, or a work made for hire, and it was created before 1904. The copyright situation of this work is theoretically uncertain, because in the country of origin copyright lasts 70 years after the death of the author, and the date of the author's death is unknown. However, the date of creation of the work was over 120 years ago, and it is thus a reasonable assumption that the copyright has expired (see here for the community discussion).
