Summary
[edit]DescriptionLancing College Chapel, West Sussex (Interior).jpg |
English: This monumental chapel is part of Lancing College and it can be seen for miles around. It is the largest school chapel in the world. It was built in the French Gothic style. Even the vaulting is 90' (28m) tall!
However, the building remains unfinished. Originally, plans were drawn up for a 350' (108m) tall West Tower which would have dwarfed the chapel. The chapel was started in 1911. The West End is not finished either as a proper entrance was never constructed. |
